At the Community Healing Program, we are dedicated to reducing mental health disparities among New Haven residents. With a focus on marginalized groups and justice-impacted youth and adults, our mission is to create lasting change by addressing the unique challenges faced by these communities. Our goal is to reduce mental health symptoms by 40%, fostering long-term healing and resilience through culturally responsive care.
Who We Serve: Black and Marginalized Communities
Our program provides support for youth ages 12+, adults, families, and justice-impacted individuals, from Black & marginalized communities. We believe in creating safe, inclusive spaces for healing and self-growth, helping you access the services and resources necessary to build a brighter future.
Our Services
Clinical Case Management
Our Clinical Case Management services are designed to help you navigate life’s challenges while receiving mental health care. We offer support in a variety of key areas, helping you achieve holistic well-being. Case management is available exclusively for clients engaged in mental health services at Quality Counseling. Our case manager can assist with:
- Employment assistance
- Basic needs (food, housing, and clothing)
- Financial literacy and budgeting
- Access to health services
- Education support
- Professional development
- Cultural and community services
Using our Healing Needs Assessment, we’ll identify the specific areas where you need support, ensuring you have access to resources that align with your personal goals.

Yoga Therapy
Yoga is more than a physical practice—it’s a pathway to healing, allowing the body to release stored trauma, stress, and tension. Through our **free yoga therapy sessions**, you can experience the mental, emotional, and physical benefits of this practice. We offer both individual and group sessions to help you connect with your body, find balance, and foster inner peace.

Collective Healing & Support Groups
Healing doesn’t happen in isolation—it thrives in community. Our **Group Therapy** sessions cover a range of topics, including art therapy, yoga therapy, gender-specific youth groups, meditation, and book clubs. These collective healing spaces allow participants to share their experiences in a supportive, non-judgmental environment. It’s where shame fades, and connection grows, reminding you that healing is a shared journey.
Free Thinkers: Support Group for Justice Impacted Brothers
Our New Haven Free Thinkers group provides justice-impacted adults with a space to heal and move beyond the adversities connected to incarceration. This supportive community allows participants to share their experiences, focus on personal growth, and rebuild their lives with a renewed sense of purpose and possibility.

Paint & Heal is our therapeutic art program designed for adults who seek creative expression as part of their healing process.
